I Slept…

I slept,

and yes did dream,

of a place.

Beautiful, and…

Terrible,

the shiny veneer of order,

the addicting self congratulatory liquor of

assumed superiority,

soaked the society

(at a molecular level),

intoxicating it and making it blind.

The people did not value knowledge,

and did not want facts to interfere with

What They Knew.

Learning was disparaged and the people

yearned for the wisdom that came forth

from the mouths of the latest corporate creations,

Believing it truth,

Despite…

The evidence of their eyes.

Friendships were rare unless born of

Chemicals, Greed, Hatred, Blood, or Lust.

The sharing of one’s heart and feelings considered

weak…

Thus, Love turned inward,

limited to those who returned it,

Safely.

The great Agápe… lost.

Kindness and generosity (unless for secondary gain),

considered quaint,

cute…

and stupid.

I dreamt of a place of madness…

and then I woke.

Finding that my dream was a distillation,

a mirror to that place.

In which we cheerfully live.
