Which world is real?
Sleep is a necessary thing… or so “they” say,
and “they” should know,
they’ve done the research.
We know how it feels, a bad night versus good,
refreshed vs beat… but why?
Do we even know when we fall asleep?
The moment, I mean.
Are we conscious?
Or (hear me out),
Do we exist in the world, then in an instant exist in the multiverse of dreams,
then return to this plane hours later?
For that time, the essence of who we are, lives outside reality…
While our bodies lie dormant, vessels empty of the spark that animates us as humans, mere organic time machines hosting the machinery of consciousness while we explore other worlds in dreams.
So, as designed, we lapse into planned hibernation for the good of the mind (soul?). The essence of ourselves demanding we travel outside of time for hours every day, to “rest the body”.
But, is it our essences who need to rest, returning to the safe dimension of dreams from whence we came, while our containers travel through time awaiting our return?
