My body was designed by the genetics of survival, to outlast famine and scarcity.
It was designed not to conquer by force, as it would be if I had massive musculature that does not require training, but to be there when the fighting is over, thin from starvation, but very much alive.
This mix of every oppressed gene pool in my DNA speaks to the struggles my “blood” has endured to reach this point and survive.
Even the look of the “oppressor” (skin color and features) speaks to the strategy of endurance.
I’ll take my efficient metabolism, every calorie ingested, saved against the “inevitable” day of want.
As long as I can fuel, I can survive.
